Where do I find the System event log? I built my computer a few months ago and now it randomly freezes. so first you should check your keyword. I was only able to get about 8 hours in though because the computer was needed.

Is the computer REALLY locked up? When the process is found, you can either kill it or restart it, depending on how critical it is to windows. I have yet to see in the event log what program, software, hardware, etc. If so, right-click on it and choose "end process" to kill the offending program.Also, you can check the programs which are running at startup by choosing "Run" from the start menu
