Windows System32 Config System File Missing Or Corrupt Solution
Pretty much out luck if the CDrom is broken and you don't have an original Windows XP Installation disk. Disclaimer - I am not a computer repair technician. Always back up, and if you're not sure, don't proceed. The 7 year old machine probably has see much use and its' better days.
Given the number of restore points found on the machine i was working on, i can only assume that this is too the case for Windows XP.
