Yeah, your observation is certainly valid. Now, another problem has cropped up...I clicked on the scan button and I got the following error....0x80004003 - the dialog box says "Windows Defender encountered a problem. Apparently the user interface required some code changes and they have not issued an update for this yet. HAN's idea worked...the main scan button worked just not the one that shows up every three days.
Just makes you wonder what MS is doing about this.
